Abstract
The linear interpolation method (LIM) or the method of false position is a root finding method with two initial approximations. In this paper we briefly describe a modified version of the LIM and the behavior of the method has been investigated in terms of asymptotic convergence. Conclusions have been made by comparison with other vigorous methods with the help of examples.
