Abstract
Schiff based New organic crystal prepared C13H14CH3 (E)-4-Methyl-2-(NPhenylcarboximidoyl)Phenol (4M2NPCP), Single X-RD analysis showed that 4M2NPCP exhibits a monoclinic system at room temperature with a = 4.6976 (4) Å, b = 19.3656 (18) Å, c = 12.3116 (12) Å and a non-centrosymmetric space-group (P21/n). TG / DTA determine decomposition-temperature (285.0° C) with losing mass. The phase transition is confirmed by DTA Analysis at 265°C. The new crystal was screened by twelve bacterial strains selected on basis of their relevance human pathogens. The results showed that (MIC = 11 - 38 mg/mL) was most active as compared with its precursors. Determination of the specific absorption coefficient by measuring absorption of protein on solution in the test sample at 595nm and gave values which on the average coincide with values reported.
