Abstract
In this paper the Model predictive control (MPC) of DC-DC buck converter is simulated and its performance is compared with classical Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) controller. The state space averaging model of DC-DC buck converter is used to design the MCP controller, the objective function is formulated to incorporate constraints of control input to DC-DC converter. The comparison of controller performance is carried out by simulating the controller response in Matlab/Simulink for different inputs.
