CHUA CIRCUIT: THE PHYSICAL SYSTEM EXHIBITING THE PHENOMENON OF BIFURCATION & CHAOS FOR LOGISTIC DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Abstract

Chua circuit is one of the strongest sources of pseudo random signals. Chua circuit can also applied for the study of synchronization and is the source of communication system. This circuit makes us to realize that even lower dimensional circuits can exhibits all fascinating aspects of chaos. The circuit was useful tool to explore the concept of nonlinear dynamics and serves the starting point for nonlinear and chaotic systems (Gandhi et al 2007). It was also noticed through the result of the Van der Pol circuit and the experiment of the Chua circuit there is the similar aspect in much way. We can also conclude that the Van der Pol circuit is the starting point which can be further developed into the Chua circuit or it can be understood that the Chua circuit is the advance form of Van der Pol circuit as the Van der pol circuit was the first chaotic oscillator. In the Van der Pol circuit in the observation of the limitcycles behavior in the voltages and currents of radio sets containing RLC circuits, due to typical passive resistor which dissipates energy. The best part of the Chua circuit we can observe that it is not an analog computer but is a physical system where the voltage current and the power associated with each of the circuit elements can be measured and observed on an oscilloscope, and the flow of the power is real and can be identified which makes physical sense.
