Abstract

Renewable Energy Resources refers to the usage of environment friendly technology and is aimed at conservation and of environment and natural resources. Renewable Energy Resources is also referred as Environmental technology or Clean technology or Green technology. India being a developing country strongly believes in industrialization and foreign investments for achievement of its economic growth. For its energy utilization, India is largely dependent on non-renewable energy sources like oil, petroleum, natural gas. There exists limitations of availability of non-renewable energy sources and there are several factors that affect the environment and economy of country. The renewable energy sources available naturally in abundant quantities are consumed for production of power to meet India's commercial and industrial needs. The naturally available renewable energy sources are Ocean energy, Wind power, Biomass, Solar energy, Geothermal energy etc. Current research focuses on identifying the awareness about Prospects and Challenges related to the usage of renewable energy resources among few organizations operating in two different regions of the Industrial Development Corporation in Gujarat state. Survey based primary research was carried out to establish an association between organization's demographic profile with its conceptual understanding of Renewable Energy Resources and perception of Prospects and challenges of Renewable Energy Resources. Research indicates that due to nonavailability of non-renewable energy sources, demand of renewable energy sources is ecalated indicating the huge scope of green technological developments in future, though there are certain challenges associated with it
