Abstract
Islamic Economics can be defined as set of economic principles which stem from the Islamic law and ethics governing the economic activity of the state as mentioned in the texts of Qur'an and Sunnah which should be applied in accordance with the circumstances of time and place. This research discuss the emergence of Islamic economics since the first Hijri year, as well as the general principles of Islamic economics such as dual ownership, economic freedom and social justice. The research concludes that the succession, interdependence and inclusiveness, divine, equilibrium, realism and justice are among the most important characteristics of the Islamic economy distinguishing it from other economic systems of capitalism and socialism.
