PROCESS REDESIGN AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IMPACT ON PRODUCT QUALITY IN BICYCLE INDUSTRY: ASSESSMENT THROUGH BUSINESS PROCESS REENGINEERING

Indian bicycle manufacturers are lagging in terms of product quality when compared to foreign manufacturers. Since the past decade we have noticed that bicycles are witnessed not only as a mode of transport but for sports, fitness, leisure and as a status symbol as well. The business process reengineering in process redesign, and information technology proves its significance. This paper presents a stratified sampling in selecting respondents, Regression analysis to establish the relationship between Business process re-engineering and performance. ANOVA was also used for reliability check. The study was conducted on a total of 500 respondents. The paper concludes with a note on how Indian manufacturers can be more quality conscious.
