Abstract
Manufacturing units of a country plays a vital role in the growth of an economy. The development of this sector is a key indicator of the economic strength of a country. It helps in raising productivity, generating employment and also supports creating fruitfulness in job and other sectors of the economy. Make in India was inaugurated by our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 25 September 2014, to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India. He has launched this ambitious campaign with an aim to show the country into a worldwide manufacturing hub. This is a world marketing strategy conceptualized by the PM of India to attract investments from businesses everywhere the planet and reworking India into a worldwide manufacturing Hub. For promoting this campaign, the online portal, logo and brochures are used for detailing 25 priority sectors of the economy. The main motto behind this initiative is to focus on job creation, improving living standards, skill development and innovation and to align India's manufacturing sector into the Global Value Chain by encouraging Public Private Partnership (PPP), Joint Ventures (JV), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflow, and advancing Ease in Doing Business (EDB). Higher education will also play a significant role in improving the quality of Research and Development (R&D). This scheme focuses on acceleration of economic growth to the new level and to drag back the economy from clutches of recession. Currently India's GDP is heavily tilted in favors of service sector.
