Abstract

The article considers with the problem of existential-conflict states of the personality in the context of the value orientations of adolescents. Based on the theoretical analysis of scientific research of this problem, it is indicated that existential-conflict states are a form of manifestation of internal conflicts of a personality, are difficult to reflect by a person, and are also largely difficult to self-regulation. It is emphasized that existential-conflict states and the possibility of overcoming them play a significant role for the development of the personality of older adolescents. Theoretical analysis made it possible to reveal the lack of empirical research, in general on the problem of existential states of the personality, as well as the lack of research in the context of the socio-psychological determination of existential internal conflicts in adolescents. The theoretical and methodological relevance of this problem indicated the necessity to conduct an empirical study of the study of the peculiarities of the connection between existential-conflict states of the individual with various types of value orientation of adolescents, the results of which are presented in this article. The total sample of respondents was 115 people. Older adolescents 16–17 years old. The results of the study showed that the egocentric value orientation to the «I» at a reliable level promote to the strengthening of existential-conflict states of loneliness, alienation and depression, and the value orientation to «Business» reduces the emotional tension associated with these states. An increase in the value orientation towards «Communication» partially reduces the severity of existential conflict states in adolescents. It was revealed that the studied connection has features depending on the gender factor. In the group of girls, it is noted that an increase in the orientation towards individualism enhances positive-emotional state self-transcendence and reduces the experience of loneliness and alienation. In the group of young men, an opposite statistical regularity is observed, which is most likely explained by the peculiarities of gender socialization
