Methods: The research was conducted in the hematology clinics of Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital, Gazi University Hospital, Hacettepe University Hospital and Ankara University Hospital in Ankara. The sample of the study consists of 76 hematology nurses. In the collection of data; For the nurses, socio-demographic data collection form, Communication Skills Scale (CSAS) and Empathic Skill Scale (ESAS) were used. Results: 48.7% of the participating nurses were single in the 26-35 age group, 53.9% were single, 52.6% had 1-4 years of experience and 75% were service nurses. There was no statistically positive, linear relationship between CSAS and ESAS applied to hematology nurses. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, no statistically significant relationship was found between communication and empathy skills (p = 0.828). The relationship between communication and empathy skills is supported in the literature reviewed, but our findings do not support the literature. In line with these results, it is recommended that intensive training modules should be developed, implemented and provided for each nurse to participate in the programs in order to make the communication and empathy skills of nurses more effective, and that the nurses' communication and empathy skills should be examined and evaluated in many areas.
