Abstract

The article analyzes connotative and pragmatic changes in the semantic structure of words translated into modern Russian by Eastern languages. The pronounced tendency to actualization of orientalisms, replenishing the dictionary of the Russian language in parallel with entries from traditional donor languages, is a characteristic feature of the Russian language system of the XXI century. This circumstance is particularly interesting, as the countries of the East are known as States that differ in some isolation on a global scale, but at the same time successfully combine with the process of globalization their national traditions and spiritual values. The purpose of the article is to consider the communicative and pragmatic novelty of Eastern borrowings in the modern Russian language, due to new situations and contexts of the use of Oriental lexemes. The article States the increasing importance of Eastern borrowings in the linguistic consciousness of contemporaries, which is most actively manifested in the semantic shifts undergone by Orientalism. It is established that changes of this kind are correlated both with the structure of a polysemous word and with the seminal structure of a separate lexico-semantic variant. With the apparent dominance of modern scientific attention to the semantic transformations of Eastern borrowings, the connotative-pragmatic dynamics of the latter in General remains in the shadow, although such changes are especially significant, since they represent a variety of cognitive processes. In this regard, it is argued that the connotative-pragmatic shifts in the semantics of Oriental words demonstrates a pronounced actualization of Oriental borrowings, which has an undoubted impact on the conceptual sphere of modern Russian speakers. Different vectors of pragmatic dynamics of lexical units are revealed, indicating the change in the perception of the nominated objects of knowledge by the speakers, the new vision of the latter by the language team
