APPLYING OF VOCABULARY OF ACADEMIC LEXICON IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR SPECIFIC ACADEMIC PURPOSES

The article discusses the relevance of using the dictionary of academic vocabulary in the context of teaching English for academic purposes at non-linguistic faculties of Russian universities. In connection with the processes of globalization and the entry of Russia into a single international educational space is mastering of a foreign language as a tool for studying and rational using of innovative experience and achievements in the field of international educational, scientific and professional activities is gaining a great importance. Knowledge of English for academic purposes and academic vocabulary, in particular, provides a higher level of communication with non-native speakers and promotes academic mobility. The article also substantiates the importance of relying on the academic words list in learning of academic vocabulary in graduate/postgraduate studies at non-linguistic faculties of Russian universities.
