The article considers the subjective modality of a literary text in its correlation with emotionality, which allows to identify the priority subject of the narrative for a particular text (author, narrator), as well as to establish implicit evaluative meanings. The relevance of the study is due to the anthropocentric orientation of modern linguistics. The purpose of the article is to consider the implementation of subjective modality with the help of multi-level tools that represent the interaction of this textual and communicative category with the emotionality of a literary text. The multidimensionality of the chosen object determines the research methodology, which is complex and involves the method of continuous sampling, observation techniques and modeling, the method of transformation, bregmacerotidae modal analysis of language units of different levels of accessories, component and contextual analysis, method of philological interpretation. The analysis allows us to draw conclusions about the complexity of the structure of subjective modality, due to the functioning of the speech plans of the author, narrator, narrator, characters; the boundaries of these speech plans are often uncertain, these speech and modal registers can undergo transformation. In a literary text, subjective modality is realized through linguistic means, and emotive-evaluative meanings can have different status, which allows ranking them depending on the criteria of correlation with the subject or the degree of unfoldment in the text. At the lexical level of a literary text, subjective modality is represented by lexemes and their combinations, characterized by emotional coloring and expressive evaluation, grammatical means of realization of subjective modality are determined by models of subjunctive mood representation, and at the syntactic level such means are introductory words and constructions. The set of means of representation of subjective modality allows to produce emotive and estimating meanings.
