Abstract
Metaphorical representation of wisdom is considered. It is established that wisdom is distinguished by its mystery, its connection with life experience and its direction to the past, its orientation to the final aims of life and being, its holiness, which find their reflection in linguistic and poetic metaphors of this category. Specifically “sophianic” model of metaphorical transfer is associated with specific semantic attributes of wisdom, which differ wisdom from intelligence, stupidity and cunning
