Abstract
The article gives an overview of the main manifestations of misappropriation of property, specifies the specifics of greenmail and raiding in Ukraine. The reasons and main schemes of raiding are considered considering the specifics of Ukrainian market economy conditions. The author proposes a method for determining the threat of raiding taking into account Ukrainian realities. It is concluded that companies can use financial ratios as a tool to maintain the financial indicator of an enterprise, and its financial condition monitoring in the interests of its protection against raiding attacks can be used to develop a strategy to counter aggressors and to correct their financial and economic status and protect their business. It is about improving the market mechanism, activating capital. At the same time, the current crisis conditions have created an extremely favorable environment for intensifying criminal activity, a particular aspect of which is raiding. Organized crime is shaping not only a “parallel” economy, but also the corresponding power criminal structures, which are increasingly threatening the existence of the state as such.
