CHALLENGES IN THE INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN ENERGY SYSTEMS IN INDIA

India is one of the rapidly growing economies in the world. India is looking at renewable energy as a viable alternative in the long run but it also faces a lot of challenges in switching over to renewable energy sources. In this background, this paper attempts to discuss the challenges in the integration of renewable energy in the existing energy systems in India. The study analyzes the benefits of integration, and discusses the practices in countries where large scale integration has already been done. This study adopts descriptive research method and is based on the reviews of research papers, articles and reports. Integration becomes one of the most important tools.
