FISCAL SWINDLES RECOUPING AND NATIONAL INCOME BOOSTING: NIGERIA’S EXPERIENCE

Abstract
The study focused on fiscal swindle recouping and national income boosting: Nigeria's experience. The main purpose was to evaluate how recent technologies can be used to curb fiscal swindle and the consequential effect on national income boost. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, data were obtained from secondary source. A simple regression model was used to analyze the data collected. Findings revealed that national income generation is negatively affected by the loot recovered/fiscal swindle salvaged since the loots are not brought into the income account. However, the loots are seen to have affected the standard of living and image of the country negatively. This uncertainty has affected negatively the level of external direct investment in the country and the country's involvement in international trade with other countries. Consequently economic and technological growth and development are greatly inhibited. The study therefore, recommended based on its findings that government should embrace far-reaching drill of scientific and investigative audit using modern technologies in the combat against fiscal swindle and this consequently will enrich the revenue of the state and improves standard of living as well as economic growth and development.
