Abstract
Titanium dioxide TiO2 nano particles of size around 13nm were synthesized by sol-gel method using titanium (IV) isopropoxide, isopropyl alcohol and NH3 precursors. The XRD diffraction pattern shows the anatase structure of TiO2 and FESEM shows the particle size of TiO2 is 13 nm. Nanostructured TiO2 thin films were prepared by doctor blade method on an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate. The mesoporous TiO2 thin film was sensitized by cadmium sulfide (CdS) by successive ionic layer absorption and reaction (SILAR) method. CdS sensitized solar cell was fabricated by following standard dye sensitized solar cell fabrication method. It was tested under standard illumination 1.5 AM,100mW cm-2. The photo energy conversion efficiency of the CdS sensitized solar cell was observed as 1.31%.
