Abstract
Single crystals of Tetrabutylammoniumtetrabromocobaltate (II) crystal, was grown by slow evaporation method at room temperature. The crystals belong to a class of compounds that shown interesting properties like phase transitions and ferroelectric behaviour in a narrow temperature. The grown crystals were characterized through elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, low temperature differential scanning calorimetry techniques. The spectral studies of FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra were obtained for the sample. Single crystal X-ray diffraction technique is used to find the structure and crystal packing of the compounds.
