FINANCING OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN INDIA: ISSUES AND MITIGATION MEASURES

Abstract
Higher education in India is one of the most fast growing sectors, involving a large number of students from all over the world. It is higher education that prepares students to enter in the real life situation. Therefore, the quality of higher education in directly concerned with the development of a nation. To improve the quality of education, provision of adequate financing for the overall improvement of educational institutions is very essential task. The present study is concerned with studying the financing process of Indian higher education, various issues connected with it and providing some mitigation measures. The study is mainly based on the secondary sources i.e. the researcher has taken the help of available secondary sources of data that is books, research articles and magazines etc. for the collection of data. Through the study, an overview of the financing process of higher education in India is presented.
