Abstract
The purpose of the article was to empirically study the gender characteristics of young people with different levels of empathy. The study revealed statistically significant differences in gender characteristics between groups of young people with different levels of empathy. There are no statistically significant differences between the indicators of gender characteristics, namely «other social roles» and «professional roles» between groups of young people with high and low levels of empathy. There are statistically significant differences between the indicators of empathy level and personality type, namely the feminine personality type. The results of the study can be applied in the practical activity of employees of social and psychological services in conducting psychological counseling, psychological prevention in work with young people.
