Abstract
Currently education institution is highly branded by intense competition, rapid technological changes, quality of education and better results. Faculty Engagement as an important strategic approach to Human Resource Management has been in focus, as it is applicable to education institution for its success. Education institution in tamilnadu find difficult to engage their faculties. Faculties are likely to be involved in teaching, research and service to College or Universities. The scopes of engagement vary by nature of institution and discipline, nevertheless all faculty toil within some mixture of these areas. An engaged faculty will show a high grade of commitment and involvement in the career. in the career of the faculties most of the time spend of research once it is completed then return to a focus on teaching. Thus, engagement of the faculty is an important consideration for education institutions.
This study attempted to throw lights on the difference in the faculty engagement from various studies and to identify the factors influencing the faculty engagement in private colleges and universities.
