Bibliographic Indicators of the Content of Ukrainian Literary Magazines 1990–2000 Historical and Literary Source

The article deals with the bibliographic indexes of the content of Ukrainian literary magazines published in Ukraine at the end of XX - beginning of XXI century. Most of them are stored in the Scientific and Bibliographic Information Division of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. Information on the work of magazines and their editors is briefly presented. The structure of bibliographic indexes, the scientific-auxiliary apparatus are analyzed. The role of bibliographic sources that reveal the content of Ukrainian literary journals in the study of public, political, scientific, cultural, literary and artistic life of Ukrainians in Ukraine and abroad is shown. The information on the state of the study of the content of periodicals in Ukraine over the last three decades is presented. Current research analyzes structure and content of magazine pointers what played a significant role in social, political, cultural and literary life of Ukraine («Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk», «Vistnyk», «Slovo i chas», «Lysty do Pryiateliv», «Nazustrich», «Vsesvit», «Kurier Kryvbasu» and other). Considerable attention of the study is spared to the pointers that expose content of magazines of the Ukrainian diaspore. It was investigated that bibliographic manuals professionally expose and report to the users basic questions that were illuminated on the pages of magazines and recreate valuable information about scientific, cultural, social and political, literary, artistic life of our compatriots in Ukraine and abroad. It is found out that the modern state of research of content of magazines is characterized by expansion of circle of editions and publishers. The article stresses active role of certain scientists and also libraries of research establishments of the National academy of sciences of Ukraine in creation of bibliographic manuals of such type. It is well-proven that the bibliographic pointers of maintenance of magazines are an important source of the deepening of researches of history and life of Ukrainians during many years, especially in case of absence of original sources. It is recommended in future to prepare edition of new bibliographic pointers of content of magazines that left noticeable track in the history of development of Ukrainian literature and life of Ukrainian society.
