CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR DEFAMATION IN UKRAINE: PROSPECTS AND REALITY

The article is devoted to the issue of criminal liability for defamation in Ukraine. First of all, the author of the article considers the relevance of this issue and provides arguments as to why this study is relevant in our time. The purpose of this article is to analyze in detail the responsibility for defamation now, as well as to learn in as much detail as possible about its future prospects. The article defines the main definition and legal basis on this issue. The focus is in the educational function of criminal liability for defamation for society. In addition, the article reveals and analyzes the experience of different countries in which criminal liability for defamation is enshrined in law. Thanks to this, it is possible to learn and take into account the world experience on the issue of criminal liability for defamation.
