Abstract
The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of modern data on the clinical manifestations of alimentary dystrophy and the features of forensic medical examination in such cases of living people and a corpse. The author paid attention to today's scientific data on alimentary dystrophy, the causes of its occurrence, clinical development at different stages of fasting. As a consequence of the highest development of the disease β the acute development of alimentary-dystrophic (hungry) coma, which without treatment by specialists ends in death. Historical examples of different durations of forced fasting are given. The author noted that a forensic medical examination in case of suspicion of alimentary dystrophy of a living person takes place with the involvement of a psychiatrist, gastroenterologist, psychologist, surgeon and forensic expert, that is, a commission examination. The features of the inspection of the scene, where a corpse in a state of cachexia was revealed. The features of a dead body are highlighted in its study in cases of death from hunger.
