Abstract
Migration has maintained a close relation with mankind from its earliest stage. Because of the complexity of human life and fast changing socio- economic conditions, human migration is gaining importance day by day and has attracted the scholars of geography, social sciences, demography, economics and other related disciplines. This paper therefore, examines the various theories and laws of migration. In addition, the paper analyzes the various types of migration and shed light onimportance of the study of human migration.
