Abstract
This paper presents a compilation of the information found in public and private entities, focused on describing the wind energy potential that is presented in the Central Region (Meta, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima and Bogotá D.C.). of Colombia. The wind resource available in the Central Region, obtained from the measurement of stations and generating the maps of the wind energy density at 80 m, the projection is obtained to establish the possible location of a wind farm and the most suitable aerogenerators to operate in that area.
