Abstract
This research article presents a method based on the energy of the texture of the images, which allows the facial recognition of people in sites that present rules to allow authorized entry to their facilities. The first order descriptors are combined with a 5x5 kernel and a holistic correlation is made, allowing to find recognition results above 97.4%. The method can be implemented efficiently and the processing time is relatively fast. Facial recognition systems are vulnerable once their operation is known, that is why it can be implemented to strengthen the surveillance system by incorporating 54 characteristics that can be extracted from the images.
