INCREASE OF PRODUCTIVITY IN ASSEMBLY AND MACHINING LINES OF ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LINE BALANCING

All the industries has to produce higher quality products at lower costs. The main objective of any industry is to increase productivity in order to remain competitive in the market. Many industries use industrial Engineering Technique such as Line Balancing in order to increase productivity and to minimize wastes. Line balancing can be implemented in many of the production lines where a bottle neck point often occurs. In this paper line balancing technique is applied in actuator assembly line in an automotive industry. Analysis on the current actuator assembly line would be done to identify wastes and to develop ideas to solve them. After implementing Line balancing technique in Actuator Assembly line, the number of operators is reduced from 15 to 14.
