RECOVERY PERFORMANCE OF THE ASSAM CO-OPERATIVE APEX BANK LIMITED (ACABL), ASSAM: AN ANALYSIS

The Assam Co-operative Apex Bank Limited (ACABL), the state level co-operative bank of Assam, plays a vital role in accelerating economic growth of Assam. Supplying sufficient amount of loans and advances is essential for economic growth and timely recovery of loans is a pre-requisite for banking institutions, particularly for a cooperative bank. The present paper is an attempt to study the recovery performance of the ACABL. The present study is done with the use of both primary and secondary data. The study is analytical in nature and covers a period of ten years from 2009-10 to 2018- 19. Statistical tools like average, percentage, annual growth rate, average annual growth rate and chi-square test are used for the purpose of analysis and interpretation of the data under study. The overall recovery performance of the ACABL reveals a good performance during the period under study.
