Abstract
The aim of the work was to establish the etiological significance of a number of socio-demographic factors as conditions for the spread of HIV infection in the Republic of Mordovia. A retrospective analysis of epidemiological investigation cards, outpatient cards of HIV-infected patients, and report forms of the State Medical Institution of the Republic of Mordovia "Mordovian Republican Center for AIDS Prevention and Con- trol" for 2018β2019 was conducted. In the Republic of Mordovia, there is a shift in the incidence of socially adapted groups, the sexual route of transmission of infection remains the most significant, men 30β50 years old are more often infected. HIV- infected patients of the Republic of Moldova, first identified at the stage of severe immunodeficiency, almost 2/3 are men living in rural areas, infected with sexual heterosexual contacts
