Abstract
The article is devoted to examination of regularities in location of conservation areas on the basis of landscape types formed in territories of the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is obvious that conservation areas formed in the territory of the former USSR were located irregularly according to the landscape types (within limits of natural zones). Numbers and areas of conservation areas formed in all natural zones were compared and the irregularity was found here as well. This fact was also studied while carrying out the analysis of separate natural zones.
