A Critical Analysis of Hypospadias Patients; Management and Complications

Abstract
Introduction Hypospadias is a congenital penile defect in which urethra opens on to the ventral part of penis, scrotum or perineum. it is an abnormality of anterior urethral development. Several techniques of repair have been developed for the repair of this defect. This study is aimed to assess the outcome of different surgical procedures based on the management and complications. Methods The study was conducted in general surgery tertiary care hospital. A total of 162 patients of different age group (median age for repair- 4.6yrs) were included in the study and each of them were randomly assigned different surgical management procedures. Then the outcome were assessed by its complications from early postoperative days till the next six months of regular follow ups. Results A total 162 patients. Where randomly assigned six commonly used surgical repair procedure and its results and complications were assessed. CONCLUSION- Use of modified Snodgrass with onlay preputial flap technique was effective and associated with less complications and thus recommended for repair of hypospadias
