Abstract
The paper presents the results of comparative study of features of microbiocenosis of gingival tissues and local immunity in 42 patients with chronic and exacerbated generalized catarrhal gingivitis. It was found that patients with an acute course of generalized catarrhal gingivitis have more significant differences in local humoral immunity indices as compared with a group of patients with chronic manifestation of the disease, characterized by a large decrease in sIgA and IgM levels and, to a lesser extent, IgG increase. It was established that conditionally-pathogenic streptococcal microflora leads in the etiology of chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis and staphylococcus and fungi of genus Candida dominate in development of exacerbations of inflammation in the gingival tissue
