Abstract
The status of the regional lymphatics in head and neck malignancy is one of the most important prognostic indicators. This study included 50 patients attending the department of ENT, Medical College, during a period of one year from June 2010. We found that the maximum numbers of cases were of carcinoma hypopharynx, 20 cases (40 %), followed by carcinoma oropharynx, 14 cases (28 %). The commonest site of metastases from all upper aerodigestive tract tumours is to the ipsilateral L II nodes.
