Abstract
Sacred groves have been a topic of great ecological concern for many years now. Many research works and experiments have been conducted on them either ecologically, socio-economically or analytically. The findings have varied from one author to the other based on their motive and fields of study. This review paper highlights some of the works done on sacred groves with special emphasis on the sacred groves of Meghalaya in North-east India.
