Abstract
The sandwich composites are nowadays widely used in many engineering applications due to their special properties. A sandwich structure consists of two external thin, strong, stiff facing bonded to a thick light-weight and weaker core. The core carries the through the thickness shear loads, while the facing resists in-plane and bending loads. The high specific strength and specific stiffness of sandwich construction coupled thermal and acoustic insulation makes it ideal in structural design. In this paper sawdust, polymer and corrugated carbon of sandwich composites are considered for studies. The above sandwich composites are manufactured. The physical and mechanical properties of these sandwich composites are determined for various compositions.
