Abstract
Synthesis of xanthone was extracted from 2-phenoxybenzoic acid by means of acid catalyzed cyclization. The products were characterized using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, LC-MS, spectrometers. Cyclization of 2-phenoxybenzoic acid using sulfuric acid catalyst resulted xanthone in 94.0 % productivity.
