Abstract

The MHD two-layered model of blood flow in stenosed artery has been investigated under the effect of both heat and mass transfer with porous medium. It is considered that blood in both region (core and plasma) are Newtonian. The core layer of model is considered as the suspension of erythrocytes (RBC's) and the peripheral region contains a cell-free layer of plasma. The governing partial differential equation has been solved by using Bessel differential equation and solutions are expressed in terms of Bessel functions Jn (x) and Yn (x). Analytical expressions have been obtained for velocity profile, temperature profile, flow resistance, and concentration profile. The impact of various parameters such as Grashof number, permeability constant, Schmidt number, Peclet number and magnetic number on the velocity profile, temperature profile and concentration profile have been examined graphically. The model can be beneficial in the treatment of heart related diseases.
