Abstract
The article provides a systematic analysis of such definitions as «product range», «assortment policy» and «product policy». The characteristics of the trading enterprise product range are described. The author's definitions of the concepts «product range», «assortment policy» and «product policy» are proposed. Based on the analysis of the definitions presented by the economic literature, the relevance of its product and assortment policy competent formation problem for the enterprise is justified
