Abstract
A modified matrix method for solving the inverse problem for anisotropic media is developed. Atheory to determine the angles of orientation of the plane break and to build the focal mechanism of the earthquake is presented. Approbation of the matrix method is shown on real examples of events in the Transcarpathian region; a comparative analysis of synthetic seismograms with real seismic records is done.
