Тараненко О. О. Андроцентризм у системі мовних координат і сучасний гендерний рух

O.O. Taranenko's monograph "Androcentrism in the System of Language Coordinates and the Modern Tender Movement" continues the social and scientific controversy over the appropriateness or inappropriateness of the widespread introduction of feminatives (it is this terminological variant - as more sanctified by the linguistic tradition - that the author chooses term feminitives). This controversy became especially relevant after the approval in 2019 of a new version of the "Ukrainian spelling". The spelling seems to have only stated in general the possibility that already exists in the Ukrainian language to form feminine nouns from masculine nouns with the help of four suffixes -к-а, -ин-я, -иц-я, -ес-а. However, the lack of indication of certain restrictions on the use of such derivatives, as well as the proposed examples of філологиня, директорка turned this item into a "revolutionary" step towards gender reform of the Ukrainian language.
