Abstract
A future study of Nariño coffee cultivation is carried out. This study will allow to obtain relevant information about the factors that limit or potentiate the crop, identifying the key variables to structure future scenarios for coffee in the territory of Nariño.The Coffee in Nariño territory has been noted for possessing characteristics that make it competitive at national and international level. However, producers have been experiencing difficulties associated with variables such as grain prices, production costs and the need to open new markets.It can be seen that historically entire families have relied on coffee have developed a culture around the product, so the coffee is not only a livelihood, but also the development of a culture, traditions and practices around the everyday of cultivation, processing and distribution. By the terms of Nariño territory has searched product differentiation to achieve compara-tive and competitive advantage in the culture of quality production, but also in the midst of difficulties for the continuity of their business, a situation that can start clarify through this research process, especially in its implications to what relates to Nariño territory. This pros-pective methodology under a qualitative and quantitative approach to at first identify the key for addressing future actions, aimed at improving the current situation variables was applied.
