Abstract
In the synthesis of mechanisms, the calculation and design of kinematic dimensions for linkages play an essential role in order to satisfy the output motion requirements. This paper presents the process for the synthesis of eight-bar walking machines with fulfilling output motion. In order to compute kinematic dimensions of linkage, the objective function was established. Based on the simulated annealing algorithm, the kinematic dimensions of linkages in the machine are determined by minimizing the objective function. The results show that the computation of the design parameters is simple and brings efficiency for the process of the calculation.
