Investigation of Text Comprehension questions in 5th-grade TurkishTextbooks in North Macedonia according to Revised Bloom Taxonomy Cognitive Process Dimension

Abstract

Turkish textbooks are the main and the most important material used in the Turkish education process in North Macedonia. Therefore, the activities included in the textbooks should stimulate student's thoughts and help them to develop their met cognitive skills.In this study, reading comprehension questions posted under reading textsin the 5th -grade Turkish textbook in North Macedonia were evaluated according to the Cognitive Process Dimensions in the Revised Bloom Taxonomy and determined the distribution of levels.Document analysis, which is a qualitative research method, was used in this work. It was detected that the text comprehension questions in the textbooks examined were concentrated on the basic level of the cognitive process dimension of the Revised Bloom Taxonomy and the number of questions indicating high level cognitive skills was quite low.
