Abstract
He functional structure of the geographic information system for the forest fires protection is described in the paper. The system is aimed at the three main issues such as forest fire prevention, forest fire fighting and elimination of its consequences. The review of foreign, Russian and Ukrainian counterparts of the system is made. Functional structure of the system is represented. An important feature of the system is the calculation of forest fire danger. The deterministic probabilistic method of forest fire danger assessment is described in the article. The architecture of the system and the functional structure of the program are given.
