Abstract
The article analyzes the import indicators of the chemical industry, rubber and plastic products of the Republic of Azerbaijan, considers the intervals of change of individual chemical products, rubber and plastic products imported to the country for the last five years. In order to properly develop the existing potential for the development of the chemical industry, stimulating steps taken by state to reduce the volume of imported products, increase production are shown, and practical recommendations for development prospects are offered. The author concludes that although there is an improvement in the legal framework, government support, and an increase in the number of stimulus measures to reduce the share of imports in the chemical industry, this increase in domestic production is not significant. In this regard, companies encouraging entrepreneurs in the petrochemical industry should be more alternative.
