Medical Placement as a Tool for Development of Depressed Regions of Ukraine

It has been stipulated in the article that environmental disasters, cyclical economic crises, the spread of armed conflict and everyday conflicts adversely affect public health. The high price for services, large queues of patients, lack of specialists and other barriers contribute to the development of medical tourism. Therefore, prospective studies of objects in the provision of health services is now urgent. In terms of the problems and prospects the aim of the article is to study the prospects of establishment of medical institutions that can compete in the global market. According to the results of the analysis of the obstacles in the development of medical facilities it has been determined that the main problem is the legal framework and the significant risks of patient safety. During the course of study conventional methods in economics study have been used: abstract, logical, system analysis and economic and mathematical modeling. The scientific novelty of the research is to substantiate innovative forms of institutions providing medical services, which include services for both patients and accompanying persons - medical placement, which reflects emerging trends in the world of medical tourism. The practical significance of the study results is that they give theoretical assumptions forming competitive enterprises providing medical tourism. Comparative characteristics of existing facilities in Ukraine show the advantages and disadvantages of each of them and show prospects of medical placement. On the basis of such categories as financial strength, competitive placement, stability and attractiveness of the industry sector SPACE- analysis matrix has been formed. Data analysis showed that policy direction is in a conservative area. Therefore it has been proposed to perform concentration on the positioning of objects as a complex of medical and hotel services that satisfy consumers of health services in receiving proper medical care and everyday household needs including complemented attraction measures. Further prospective studies are forcing dominant types of institutions in the field of medical tourism and patterns of interaction insurance companies and travel with them.
