Library Work as a Source of Information Support of Scientific Research in Economic Field

The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of the library as a scientific institution in the field of scientific and information activities, which is actively looking for ways and directions for its further effective work. In our study, we proceed from the premise that the modern technological revolution is characterized not only by the central role of knowledge and information in all spheres of human activity, but also by the use of this knowledge and information to generate new ideas and technologies that process information and provide communication. The purpose of the research is to study the influence of information technology on the process of using the resources of a modern library for the preparation of information and analytical materials in the field of economics. In the course of the research, general scientific theoretical methods have been used, in particular: analytical - the definition of methodological approaches to the examination of the activities of the V.I. Vernadsky Large Scientific Library; system - generalization of information needs of library users; prognostic - summing up the results of the study and the argumentation of the proposals. The scientific novelty of the research is to identify trends in the development of communicative models of the activity of Ukraine's libraries and generalize information on the conditions for their transition to an integration communicative model. The article considers the activity of libraries as a source of information support for scientific research in the field of economics. The use of the potential of the V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine as a center for information and analytical support of market transformations in the context of globalization has been described and the role of network information resources of the library and Internet portal has been disclosed. The universality of the work of the information and analytical support service for the implementation of information and analytical requests of state bodies has been highlighted. They record and inform the customers about various aspects of the development of processes taking place in the society, in particular, of an economic nature. It has been noted that an important part of the work on the preparation of the information and analytical materials of the service is the formation and filling of full-text databases (DB) that help to monitor the activities of central and local government bodies and analyze the state and processes of economic transformations in the regions. The practical significance of the results obtained is that its materials and conclusions can form the basis for further theoretical and methodological development of the organization of the library's work on systemic, effective and efficient provision of users. The positions, conclusions and results of the research can be used by library workers in the conditions of the latest network technologies using electronic information resources and interactive services.
