That is, the basis of treatment and healing is climate therapy, balneotherapy, mud therapy, diet therapy. The article reveals the features and prospects of the development of sanatoria in Transcarpathia. The aim of the study is to analyze the peculiarities and prospects of the development of sanatoria in Transcarpathia. On the basis of the accepted methods of analysis, synthesis, features of functioning of sanatoriums of Transcarpathia are generalized. The scientific novelty of the results is to determine the medical profile of the sanatorium institutions of the Transcarpathian region, to substantiate the uniqueness of the sanatorium services and to prove the needs of the sanatorium's development. The practical significance of the results is the possibility of using the results of the research to analyze the activity of sanatorium enterprises in the Transcarpathian region, as well as in developing measures on the prospects of industry development in the region. Systematization and implementation of the results of the conducted research will make it possible to adjust the activities of the industry to improve their efficiency and the development of the region as a whole. In the future, the research will focus on: the problems of the functioning of sanatoria in Transcarpathia, which include: insufficient state support; insufficient amount of capital investments for the preservation and growth of the bed fund, low purchasing power of the population of the country, undeveloped level of the credit system and system of bonuses for consumers of sanatorium services, infrastructure development, etc. Along with this, it is necessary to conduct researches on the use of sanatorium and its natural resources for organization of rest, health improvement, treatment, medical rehabilitation, prevention of diseases of people with disabilities, ATO participants, children. In the long term, it is necessary to study and carry out a medical and biological assessment of the quality of natural resources of those settlements where there are currently no sanatoriums, attract investments, expand leisure services, leisure and entertainment, etc. An important direction for further research should be the justification of the future needs of Transcarpathia in sanatoriums.
